Plastic Surgery Procedures for Men Dr. Boynton offers a variety of plastic surgery procedures for male patients, including abdominal etching, waist contouring, male breast reduction and hair replacement. Abdominal Etching Abdominal etching (also called waist contouring) is a type of liposuction for men that defines the muscles responsible for building the “six pack” stomach. Ideal candidates for male abdominal etching are those who are not extremely overweight, but have isolated pockets of fat in their waist and abdomen that are not responding to diet and exercise. This procedure should not be considered a substitute for diet and exercise. During this surgical procedure, one or more tiny incisions are made so the abdominal muscles can be accentuated while fat is suctioned from the areas where there is an abundance of fat. I am proud of my strong educational background which is the foundation for my dedication to excellence, starting with my undergraduate education at Duke University, and my medical school education at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Of my seven years of postdoctoral surgical training, the final two years were dedicated exclusively to Plastic Surgery training at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, which has a long-standing tradition of outstanding advanced training in aesthetic plastic surgery. I am also a member of the teaching faculty for the Methodist Hospital Plastic Surgery Residency Training Program.
