Liposuction
Diet and exercise can only do so much. For many people, areas of the body are resistant to even the most stringent diets and intensive exercise programs. If you suffer from resistant fat deposits on certain areas of your body, liposuction may provide you with the body contour you want.
Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that can eliminate the areas of your body that have excess fat, including:
- Liposuction of the Abdomen
- Liposuction of the Inner and Outer Thighs
- Liposuction of the Knees
- Liposuction of the Chin
- Liposuction of the Neck
- Liposuction of the Arms
- Liposuction of the Hips and Flanks
Dr. Boynton has performed hundreds of liposuction procedures to help many patients to achieve their body contour goals and eliminate the excess fat in certain areas of their bodies. The results of liposuction provide a better-sculpted body, which has the proper proportions. The new self-image often boosts self-confidence because liposuction patients are proud of their new look.
Modern liposuction techniques allow patients to remove larger amounts of excess fat, to help contour larger areas of the body.
Abdominoplasty
An abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck” procedure is used to remove excess skin and fat from the abdominal region of the body that often causes people to be self-conscious or embarrassed about their bodies.
Because of the changes to the abdomen that can occur pregnancy, many women may have stretch marks, loose skin, and “separation” of the rectus muscles which can leave the abdomen more “protuberant”.
None of these changes that can occur with significant weight loss or pregnancy will improve on their own or with exercise. An abdominoplasty (or tummy tuck) is a plastic surgical procedure that removes the excess loose skin and fat and tightens the muscle wall in order to obtain a flatter, more attractive, rejuvenated stomach. The incision is cosmetically concealed within most swimsuits or panties.
Frequently asked questions:
Am I a good abdominoplasty candidate?
The best abdominoplasty candidates are men or women who are in good overall shape, but have excess fat and skin around their stomach area that is resistant to diet and exercise. Women who have been pregnant, and now have excess stomach skin or loose abdomen muscles are also good abdominoplasty candidates.
How long will I need to be off work?
2 weeks.. Dr. Boynton typically keeps his patients overnight and also utilizes a specially designed pain pump which helps decrease post operative pain and gets people.
Will my abdominoplasty leave a permanent scar?
Yes. Abdominoplasty does leave a scar, but an experienced plastic surgeons like Dr. Boynton will place the scar in a location so that panties or bathing suits can cover it. An abdominoplasty incision is usually made from hipbone to hipbone, above the pubic area.
How long will my abdominoplasty last?
Abdominoplasty results can be enjoyed for many years. Abdominoplasty patients will have flatter, firmer abdomens after the surgery that can be maintained through healthy diet and exercise. If significant weight gain should occur, or if a woman should become pregnant after abdominoplasty, a follow-up procedure may be necessary.
