This patient underwent a vertical reduction mammoplasty (breast reduction) to decrease the size of her breasts and alleviate her symptoms of discomfort from the large breasts.  Visually, this brings her breast size into aesthetic balance with her torso.  The reduction gives an uplifted appearance and better shape to the breasts.  The vertical technique also involves a smaller total incisional length with a complete avoidance of the traditional inframammary incision.

This 59 year old patient has a previous history of silicone gel implants placed 22 years ago.  She was unhappy with the appearance of the implants being very low on her chest and has some “bottoming out” of the left implant.  She underwent revision breast surgery to remove the old silicone implants, bilateral capsulotomy/capsulorrhapies to improve the breast pocket (internally) and a replacement of new silicone gel implants.  In addition she underwent a repair of the left inframammary fold (the natural fold under the breast) to help elevate the left breast.  She is very pleased with her results.
